This is an indispensable training item if your dog does not return quickly enough to retrieve.
The moment your dog looks at you with the fetch, show the happy ball by swinging it briefly. When the dog then quickly comes to you with the fetch and hands it over, you throw the happy dummy into a You simply let the dog go in a different direction, making fetch a fun game for your dog again.
If retrieving improves over time, continue working on finishing the retrieve neatly, but keep the happy ball as a game element.
